it is better to jump

My landlady had a new air conditioner installed today. Yesterday, she approached me and asked if I would be home because the men installing it would need to drill on my side of the balcony and needed to come in my house. No problem. Today, she came to the door and said,
"Instead of the men coming and going in your house it is just better for them to jump back and forth."
"Really? Are you sure? I don't mind."
"No, it is better to jump."
"OK..."
So, I had men outside my window all day, drilling holes in the concrete wall and jumping back and forth from my balcony to the one next door. Never a dull moment.
