Gave out some candy to some cute trick or treaters today. I also went to my church for the first time since being home. It was so great to see dear friends again.

Today was my mom's birthday and we spent it with my aunt and uncle. I am so thankful to be with family on special days this year.

I spent the better part of the day wandering through IKEA. This place is amazing, and slightly overwhelming. My favorite part was this kitchen.

I can't get over the hugeness of things in America. SUVs. Milk jugs. Parking lots. Movie theater drinks. This sucker is huge...and not even the biggest you could get.

We went to a TCU game tonight. They played the Air Force Academy and there was a fly over during the national anthem. Incredible. A perfect "welcome back to America" day for me!

Jenschke Bowl

We traveled to Texas this weekend to see family and go to a few football games. Tonight was the Jenschke Bowl where my cousin and his wife's high schools played each other. Fun evening!

Today was packing day at the house. Anyone know the scene in the Money Pit with Tom Hanks where there are hundreds of workers in the house, around every corner? That was my day today. They packed up the whole house in less than 6 hours. Impressive.

The way waiters box up leftovers here just amazes me. After dinner, I had a taco, rice, and beans left along with the lettuce garnish. This is how the box came back to me. Taco, rice, and garnish. Hilarious.

not a fan of goodbyes

Today started a string of goodbyes. My roommate and I had dinner with a dear friend who will be missed!

perfect 10

I had a good 10/10/10. I got to see my kiddos at the orphanage then had dinner with some wonderful local friends. I was given this note during our English lesson at the orphanage. Too cute!

So, school started recently across the street. This means getting woken up to the national anthem and the sound of lots of screaming, playing kids all day long. Never a dull moment.

glee

Today was a Glee kind of day. I watched a few old episodes with friends who were catching up, then we had dinner and watched the newest episode. Not a bad way to spend an evening.

3D fun

My roommate and I went to go see a movie in 3D tonight. Yes, we know we look good!

I did some serious baking today...trying to use the mixes that have been sent to me from the States. Time is running short to use them up!
