another day, another wedding

Almost every day of the week there is a wedding celebration down on our street. I love seeing all the people dressed up, celebrating, and sometimes...dancing! :)

market trip

I took my friend to the market tonight to pick up a few souvenirs. It was super busy, I haven't seen it like this in a long time. A fun night of shopping!

I'm getting ready to go to the airport tomorrow to pick up a friend who's passing through. Those people should know me by name now.

I spent the day relaxing at home and then went to a movie with my roommate. A great way to recharge after a busy month.

Man, I love these kids. They are back after being away for the summer and we went to visit today. Such a fun afternoon!

We went downtown for my friends' last night in the city and then went to the top of a hotel to check out the view. I could have spent hours up there.

We went to eat at a waffle place tonight and my friends put their recipes on the wall. Fun dinner and a fun night!

Today was a great day. I took my friends to see some of the small business projects we're involved in and then we had lunch with the priest of a church and all of their leaders. An amazing meal with amazing people.

Being out of town at camp for 8 days means many things...one of them is a mountain of laundry. I spent today getting caught up. I am SO thankful to have a dryer in my life now.

Check this guy out. He is rockin' the shades, right? We took the team to the old city today and they have a gallery of all the recent popes. This one is my favorite.

I had a wonderful day at the Sea with some new friends. We met up with one of the campers from last week and she took us to a private beach and then to a roof top restaurant. Cameras could not properly capture this amazing sunset.

Pretzel M&Ms. Why didn't someone think of this before?? A lovely friend brought these and some other goodies to me from the States. Amazing!

Tonight was Western Night here at camp. We taught the students line dancing and how to roast marshmallows. Yes, it was awesome.

I watched the World Cup tonight under the stars with a bunch of local students. It was so much fun. Mabrouk ya Espana!

QT...kind of.

We made 2 airport runs today to pick up some visitors from my hometown. Home of the wonderful QuikTrip--the best convenience store ever. This stand is no QT but it works just fine!

hooray for having a roommate again!

I am sending some things back to the States with some visitors that arrive tomorrow. One of my coworkers asked if he could send a bag back as well. My roommate and I couldn't resist having a little fun with the contents of his bag before zipping it all up.

Happy 4th of July!

I had some people over tonight to celebrate the 4th of July. My friends brought this yummy batch of Rice Krispie treats complete with a coconut, cashew, thin mint bald eagle on top. Awesome and delicious!

ROCK in the USA

I spent some time today putting together a playlist for the 4th of July. Ready for the party tomorrow!

I love how they celebrate weddings here. Such joy and enthusiasm. The yells you hear are a celebratory yell for weddings and the music is coming from the speakers of the red car. They are getting the bride ready and leaving for the wedding. So fun!

I went and picked up the last of my things from my old apartment today. Kind of a weird feeling.
